At Partners in Language Access (PILA), we envision a world in which every person has access to information in their preferred language, regardless of mother tongue, migratory situation, or socioeconomic status. For us, that means constantly deepening our level of expertise by staying up to date on emerging language trends, collaborating with and learning from other language workers, and remaining in close contact with the communities who are often on the receiving end of our translations.
As a team, we aim to translate content that will have a true impact on improving equitable access to essential rights and services, and seek to partner with organizations and individuals whose work demonstrates an active pursuit of this goal.
Finally, we believe in working with our clients to help them prioritize their most important materials for translation, while also pushing them to expand their commitment to language access by making this important tool a core part of their day-to-day operations. Throughout it all, we strive to maintain a flexible, personalized approach to everything we do, knowing well that translation tends to be anything but “one-size-fits-all.”
